War has been waged by Humans since the very dawn of time. Since the invention of metal men have had a material by which to wage the most ferocious of battles. The chaos of war is reflected in the semantic history of the word war. War can be traced back to the Indo-European root *wers-, “to confuse, mix up.” War is defined as a condition of belligerency to be maintained by physical force. Victory will always be obtained by the powerful and not necesarily the most just or nobal cause. |

The Aircraft carrier
An aircraft carrier is a warship whose main role is to deploy and recover aircraft. Aircraft carriers thus allow a naval force to project air power great distances without having to depend on local bases for land-based aircraft. Modern navies, who operate such ships, treat aircraft carriers as the centerpiece of the fleet, a role previously played by the battleship. Nine countries maintain aircraft carriers: the United States, France, India, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

The Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) is the lethality element of the Land Warrior program. The XM29's unique, full-solution target acquisition/fire control system combined with precision 20mm air bursting ammunition provide a significant overmatch capability against today's threats, resulting in a dramatic increase in soldier survivability. OICW gives the infantry soldier a capability to acquire targets and precisely detonate an air bursting 20mm projectile approximately 1 meter over the threat. It can also detonate on impact. |

Stealth fighters & bombers
The B-2 Spirit is a multi-role bomber capable of delivering conventional and nuclear munitions. Its low-observable, or "stealth," characteristics give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses. The B-2's low observability is derived from a combination of reduced infrared, acoustic, electromagnetic, visual and radar signatures. Its low-observability provides it greater freedom of action at high altitudes. Its unrefueled range is approximately 6,000 nautical miles (9,600 kilometers).

It is a sad fact that throughout history people have tried to invent new ways of killing each other. Each new weapon has helped to shape the way war is fought. War has always pushed men and machines to their absolute limit. It’s the fuel which stokes the fires of innovation and drives men to not only out-fight their enemy, but to out-think him, as well. It serves as a the ultimate test for both man and his creative endeavors. However, in a war in the not so distant future, it’s machines, not man, who cross new thresholds and, in doing so, presents the human race with its ultimate challenge.
